Exceptional
Performance Across
Three 802.11n Radios

The MR58 is a state of the art, high-performance device that can be deployed in
a mesh with other MR58s, or as a system with other Mesh Access Points. The MR58
can extend Wi-Fi coverage across campuses, cities, or other large outdoor areas
for a fraction of the cost of traditional infrastructure. The
Hot Zone MR58 includes the
Pro Cloud Controller
license.
With three
802.11n radios (two
802.11a/n and one
802.11g/n), the
MR58 delivers
higher throughput to
even heavy
concentrations of
end users. Smart
automatic frequency
selection and
optimization
algorithms make it
possible to cover
entire cities while
automatically
avoiding
interference and
other slowdowns. By
using advanced MIMO
antenna technology
and modulation
selection
techniques, the MR58
can also drive
weaker links at high
data rates.
Cover Large
Areas and Long
Distances
With two radios
dedicated to
high-throughput mesh
connections, the
MR58 can
create very large
mesh networks with
up to 5 hops, little
bandwidth
degradation, and
using only a limited
number of Internet
connections. One,
two, or all three
radios can be
equipped with
optional directional
antenna accessories
to create longer
distance mesh links
of up to 20 km with
clear line of sight.
Deploys Fast
Flexible mounting
kits and LED
feedback make it
quick to mount the
MR58 on
walls, roofs, poles,
towers, and other
locations. The MR58
also detects an
internet connection
automatically
without any
additional need for
on-site
configuration.
Designed for rugged
deployments in
outdoor or
industrial settings,
the MR58 is also the
right solution for
large indoor areas
with heavy demand
for bandwidth.
Below are examples
of deployments well
suited to take
advantage of the
capabilities of the
MR58.
|
High performance 802.11n network

The MR58 is an ideal solution for high-capacity, fast, and secure wireless
networks. To achieve maximum performance we recommend using only MR58s in your
network and have at least one MR58 connected to a high-bandwidth connection to
the internet.
|
|
Backhaul enhancement for large networks

The MR58 can improve the performance of large Meraki networks by providing
high-capacity backhaul to aggregate bandwidth and reduce the number of wired
Internet connections.
|
|
Long distance links

The MR58, with a high-gain directional antenna, is designed for applications
that require long distance and high-throughput.

5 GHz, 14 dBi, Sector Antenna, ANT-11
Designed for use with MR58 5 GHz radios.
The sector antenna can extend the range of an MR58 Access Point by focusing the
wireless signal in a specific direction; the best way to establish a medium
distance point-to-point wireless link.
Extended Range
The MR58 Directional antennas focus wireless signals in a particular direction
by creating a co-polarization pattern. Typically, you'll be able to extend the
reach of a radio by up to 2.5x in a particular direction.
Easy to Mount
The antenna comes with everything you need for a pole or wall mount, and is
suitable for indoor or outdoor use. 2 cables with N-Type connectors are
integrated with the antenna.
Improved Connectivity
The sector antenna improves the reach and connectivity of the Mesh network by
focusing and increasing signal strengths between MR58s.
