Dragon NaturallySpeaking ships with a user guide, tutorial, and extensive help files.  The program will also take you through training that will allow you to setup the included microphone and create your user voice files. This preliminary training will get you started using Dragon Naturally Speaking. The user guide, tutorial and preliminary training is included with all Dragon NaturallySpeaking products.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking and Dragon Medical let you talk to your computer instead of typing. As you talk, your words are transcribed onto your screen and into your documents or email messages.

Talking to a computer while it types what you say is called dictating. You can dictate, rather than type, into any program that accepts text. The user guide covers all editions of Dragon, including Dragon NaturallySpeaking and Dragon Medical. Most information presented applies to all the editions, and differences between the editions are noted. The user guide is included on the Dragon Naturally Speaking DVD.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 End-User Workbook

This workbook aims to provide an efficient introduction, presenting what an end-user should be aware of as quickly as possible — not a comprehensive reference

You will quickly learn to:

• “Type by voice” naturally and efficiently, which includes:
  • Dictating anything, including prices, phone numbers, addresses, URLs, symbols, punctuation, part numbers, acronyms, abbreviations, Roman numerals, units of measure, etc.
  • Formatting, editing, and revising text.
  • Personalizing the Vocabulary as needed with custom words and phrases, special spoken forms (pronunciations) and written forms, to ensure that Dragon is able to transcribe exactly
    what you want written, even if what you said could be written in different ways.
  • Creating custom commands to insert boilerplate content (commands of the type “Text-and-Graphics”; this is available in editions Preferred, Professional, Legal and Medical).
• “Command and control” your computer by voice, which includes:
  • Saying commands to use the Internet and e-mail, search your computer, open programs, click menus and buttons, close or minimize windows, switch between windows, etc.
  • “Voice-pressing” keys or key combinations on your keyboard.

Each lesson contains explanations, examples, and illustrations, as well as step-by-step instructions and practice exercises. In addition, notes and tips provide further details and alert you to potential pitfalls. We strongly recommend you go through the lessons in the order they are presented.
